Taylor,
I've forwarded this email to luni and PS1 (hacking group).
I thought this might be of some interest to some of the folks on those lists.

To: ***@listserv.uic.edu
All,
We just came across your organization and wanted to tell you about our
free, open-source tabletop milling project: DIYLILCNC. The device,
controlled by EMC/Linux, can be readily built by a student group or
hacker collective. We're also in Chicago, so we are particularly keen
to see local groups try out our design.
Now that the first version has been vetted by an international
community of builders, we're ready to start work on DIYLILCNC 2.0.
The second generation plans will focus on user-submitted design
improvements. In fact, folks can use our kickstarter campaign
(http://kck.st/jKb3L4) to vote for both useful and bizarre
functionality expansions. Additional premiums include component
naming rights (e.g. the "Upper Hastings Bracket" and "Vertical Peiper
Flange").
If you can help us get the word out, we'd really appreciate it!
Please let us know if you'd like to get involved in the project.
